1. Certificate of Commendation awarded to Chemistry Division by Hon’ble Chief Minister, Manipur for outstanding achievement in disposing of cases relating to NDPS Act.

2. DNA Analysis Wing with facilities of Forensic DNA profiling has been set up for the first time and functional w.e.f. 31/10/2023. This facility will help in the extraction of DNA from the exhibits, its quantification, amplification, and genotyping.

3. Assisted the Japan Association for Recovery & Repatriations of War Casualties (JARRWC) team in excavation of mortal remains of 2nd WW-II in Manipur.

4. Cyber Forensic Training Laboratory completed training of 160 numbers of Law Enforcement Agencies from ASI to Adl. SP level Officers on various topics of Cyber Forensics.

5. New Mobile Forensic Unit has been set up at DC complex, Bishnupur vide order dated 03/04/2023 making the total number of District MFU to 4(four) and presently attending crime scenes at Bishnupur, Churachandpur, Pherzawl and Tamenglong districts.

6. A special crime scene team has been constituted on 23rd October, 2023 comprising of trained forensic experts for assisting Law Enforcement Agencies in the investigation of serious crimes, especially those where provisions for 6(six) years or more of imprisonment are applicable.

7. Interoperable Criminal Justice System (ICJS) has been implemented in the Directorate. Case data of this laboratory are regularly uploaded in e-Forensic website for ready references by the Police/ Courts/Jails through ICJS.

8. To address the issue of manpower, 49 (forty-nine) additional new posts of various categories - Group A, B, C and D have been created and ready to be filled up.

9. Construction of Vehicle Examination Work-shed has been completed for examination of different types of vehicles involved in various crimes referred to FSL.
